 3 Day British Heart Foundation Diet

This diet works on chemical breakdown, so you may not vary or substitute any of the foods, although salt and pepper may be used, but no other seasoning. You must drink at least 4 glasses of water per day.

It's a strict diet and you can expect to lose about 4lbs (1.8kg) in 3 days. After 3 days go back to your normal eating habits for four days, then you can begin it again.

DAY 1

BREAKFAST:

Black tea or coffee, half grapefruit, 1 slice of dry toast, two teaspoons of peanut butter.

LUNCH:

Half cup Tuna, 1 slice of dry toast, black tea or coffee.

DINNER:

2 slices of any type of meat (aprox 3 ozs) 1 string beans, 1 cup spinach, 1 small apple, 1 cup Vanilla ice cream.

DAY 2

BREAKFAST:

1 soft boiled egg, half a banana, 1 slice of dry toast, black tea or coffee.

LUNCH:

Half cup of cottage cheese, 5 saltine crackers.

DINNER:

2 Frankfurt's boiled, 1 cup broccoli, half a cup of carrots, half a banana, and half a cup of vanilla ice-cream

DAY 3

BREAKFAST:

5 saltine crackers, 1 slice of cheddar cheese, 1 small apple, black tea or coffee.

LUNCH:

1 hard-boiled egg, 1 slice of dry toast.

DINNER:

1 cup of spinach, one cup of cauliflower, half a rockmelon, half a cup of vanilla ice cream.

DRINK TWO LITRES OF WATER EACH DAY.

There are people who have lost 40 lbs. in a month by following the 3 days on, four days off method. The key is to not over-do-it on the normal eating days. Eat moderately on your off days and drink at least two litres of water per day, every day.
